Please expand the section to include this information. The following table lists them all including a short description of what the shader renders, as well as, an image highlighting the shaders target in red. They are used to render not only blocks and entities when playing the game, but also the main screen, option screen and so on.Įach core shader is a single render program defined by a JSON file, in which vertex and fragment shader file are specified.Ĭore shaders are stored in the assets/minecraft/shaders/core directory of minecraft.jar. Note that if any error occurs when loading the shaders, the resource pack will be disabled and fabulous graphics mode will be turned off.Ĭore shaders are responsible for rendering parts of the game. Shaders are stored in the assets/minecraft/shaders/ directory of minecraft.jar. Fragment shaders are applied to every pixel and can be used to add effects like bloom, god rays, and blur. The vertex shaders modify the positions of individual vertices and are most often used to create waving foliage and water. Each single render program come in two parts, vertex and fragment. Shaders are written in OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL). Post-processing shaders are used for mob view in spectator mode, blending of translucent layers in Fabulous! graphics, and glowing status effect. Hope this helps, I'm not an expert. There are two kinds of shaders: core shaders and post-processing shaders.Ĭore shaders are used to render different parts of the game. I haven't personally tried this method, but try to check if everything worked like this.

Maybe try restarting your pc once you have done this, to make sure. If no optifine interface is to be found under "settings" in game, something went wrong. You can check this by looking for video options onder "settings" in Minecraft, and then check if you can find a 'detail settings' and 'animation settings' button. You can do this by clicking the "Minecraft folder" button in the main menu, whilst having the instance you want to mod selected. Make sure the optifine is suited for 1.12.2. jar file of the optifine to the "mods" folder. This can up to today only work on 1.12.2, so you're good. On the right side you find "install forge". under "edit instance" click "version".
in multiMC, make a new instance with the version 1.12.2.How you usually install shaders in multiMC:
Okay, ive been messing around with this as well lately, let my struggle be your lesson. If someone could help me out on this it would be greatly appreciated, thanks ! I've seen in forums that I should install Optifine as a Forge Mod but I don't understand how to do it. I think it generates the world successfully because if I launch the game again I can see that the world is still in the list. I tried installing it in the Mod tab and now the game launches but I get a "Shutting down internal server" and "Unkown error" when the game try to get me in the world. I tried a second method, I extracted Optifine to have the mod file itself : "OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_E3_MOD.jar". It's showing me a bunch of errors in the console and the game isn't even launching. I took the example for 1.12.2 and changed the filename from "OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_E2.jar" to "OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_E3.jar" in the JSON file (cause I'm using the newest Optifine version for 1.12.2). The modpack is called Life in the Village and it needs Minecraft 1.12.2. It's great and it's working but it's a bit laggy sometimes so I would like to install Optifine. It's new for me so I used MultiMC to get everything working. Hi, I wanted to try to play with a modpack.
